Triple Crown Bouldering
My normal work days are either going to classes, conducting research or programming so it’s really important to have an outlet to shake things up a bit. OIne of my outlets is rock climbing, specifically bouldering.
And if you’re into rock climbing and live in the South-East of the US, you should consider attending at least one if not all three of the bouldering competitions that make up the Triple Crown.
The three events are located at:
- Hound Ears in Boone, North Carolina – Oct.3
- Horse Pens 40 in Steele, Alabama – Nov. 7
- The Stone Fort in Chattanooga, Tennessee – Dec. 5
I’ll be at Hound Ears this year – which I hear is the one to go to if you can only do one. One of the reasons is that Hound Ears is privately owned and this competition is the only time in the year that climbers can take on the boulder field.
